 Emigration Issue Papers

Original Research from the Icelandic Roots Emigration Team

The Emigration Issue Papers are a series of original research publications produced by the Icelandic Roots Emigration Team. Each paper explores a specific question about Icelandic emigration to North America between 1850 and 1914 — drawing on over a decade of primary source research and the most comprehensive emigration database in existence. Papers are published on an ongoing basis and are free to read, share, and cite with attribution to Icelandic Roots.
