Hjörtur Kristjánsson

Hjörtur lived with his grandparents in Hjáleigur and attended school in Hveragerði as a young boy. He later attended Grænhól in Ölfus, where he lived with his maternal uncle, Gummi. His family then moved to Keflavík in the spring of 1963. He worked for the post office for many years and retired in January 2012. Hjörtur joined Icelandic Roots as a volunteer in 2020. He generously devoted his time and expertise to updating and improving records for individuals and families from southern Iceland, leaving a lasting contribution to preserving Icelandic history and genealogy in the Icelandic Roots Database.
