Samkoma Members Participate In:

Samtal Hour
This is our bi-weekly conversation (Samtal) hour, where a new guest starts the conversation by sharing an aspect of Icelandic culture, history, or traditions. Members receive an email with a link the day before each Samtal Hour.

Event Calendar
The Event Calendar is our quick stop spot for finding all the upcoming public and member-only Icelandic Roots events.

Podcast
The Icelandic Roots podcast showcases Icelandic heritage and culture from the past and present. Exploring topics like folklore, language, food, literature, and music.

Book Club
Heather Lytwyn from Winnipeg leads the Book Club. A typical online club gathering is similar to a book launch, where the author reads a passage, and then members have an opportunity to discuss the book and ask the author questions. The books are either written by Icelanders, about Icelanders, or both.

Video Library
The Icelandic Roots Video Library contains over 100 recordings of our webinars and other special presentations.

Webinars
Icelandic Roots Webinars are live online presentations. Like the podcasts, our webinars explore a wide variety of Icelandic topics by talented specialists who delve into their subjects in depth. The webinars are recorded and placed in the Icelandic Roots Video Library.

Samkoma (Gathering) Member News is our member bi-weekly newsletter that keeps members informed of upcoming member activities. This newsletter provides important background on our events and links to our online events for one-click admission.
