Hálfdan Helgason

Hálfdan Helgason has performed a tremendous amount of genealogy work over the years, compiling arguably the most significant Icelandic genealogy database for Western Icelanders. His collection contained over 500,000 names and extensive genealogical information about the Icelandic emigrants and the major settlements in the United States and Canada. Connecting the descendants of the emigrants to his database is something he has thoroughly enjoyed.

Hálfdan’s online site was a knowledge base for the benefit of Icelanders and people of Icelandic heritage. We are proud to continue this work and add to the base he created.
